Discovering my love for photography

Picture a mom on the sidelines of her son's soccer game. The one always taking the pictures. That has been me for the past 4 years at my son's high school high.  I did not enjoy it back when I first started because I felt like I was missing the game.  When you take pictures your main focus is to get just the right shot. The few times I did not take pictures. I really got to get into the game and enjoy it. Over time though I started to love the feeling of getting home running upstairs and getting and seeing the pictures I took going through one.

I noticed that many parents could not attend the games.  I would post them on our team soccer page. Many parents through the years have thanked me and said how much they appreciated the pictures.  4 years later and with a new camera I still love being on the sidelines of games taking pictures. Because I work at the school my son attends I know many of the students so you can find me at the basketball games as well as dance competitions.

Photography has become my passion.  I have been taking classes and have educated myself and have seen my progression.  Never did I know I would yet fall upon a 3rd act in life and find yet another passion.  I am now taking senior pictures and being asked to take pictures at different events.  So fun!!  The money is not bad either.  Passion drives us and the passion I have had just from starting on the sidelines continues to develop. Here is some of my work.  These were taken last weekend at a dance competition I attended for our Columbia dance team.  Jenna Beckstrom from Eagle Idaho won Miss teen Idaho in 2022 and went on to win 1st runner-up at the Miss Teen USA 2022.  I was excited to watch her perform at the Idaho ISI competition and take the pictures below.  She is an incredible dancer and her performance warmed my heart.  It flooded me with great memories of my performance days.
